1. Introduction

Forrester Consulting Group ("FCG", "we", "us", or "our"), a business division of The Forrester Group (Guyana), Inc., is committed to protecting the privacy and personal data of visitors to our website (www.forresterconsultgy.com), clients, and other individuals with whom we interact. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in compliance with the Data Protection Act No. 18 of 2023 of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana (the "DPA") and applicable international data protection standards.

2. Data Controller

The data controller for the purposes of the DPA is The Forrester Group (Guyana), Inc., operating through its advisory division Forrester Consulting Group. The Data Protection Commissioner of Guyana is Aneal Giddings, appointed January 2026.

3. Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data in the following categories:

3.1 Contact Information: name, email address, telephone number, organisation name, and job title — collected when you submit an enquiry through our Contact page, subscribe to our newsletter, or correspond with us by email.
3.2 Professional Information: details of your organisation, sector, role, and advisory requirements — collected during consulting engagement discussions.
3.3 Diagnostic Assessment Data: responses to FCG diagnostic self-assessments — collected when you complete an FCG diagnostic tool under a licence agreement.
3.4 Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and pages visited — collected automatically through our website analytics (if enabled).
3.5 Communication Data: records of correspondence, meeting notes, and engagement documentation — collected during the course of a consulting relationship.

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following lawful bases as provided for under the DPA:

4.1 Consent: where you have provided clear, affirmative consent to the processing — for example, by submitting our Contact form with the consent checkbox selected, or by subscribing to our newsletter.
4.2 Contractual Necessity: where processing is necessary for the performance of a consulting engagement or advisory agreement to which you are a party.
4.3 Legitimate Interests: where processing is necessary for FCG's legitimate business interests, including responding to enquiries, improving our services, and maintaining client relationships — provided that such interests are not overridden by your data protection rights.
4.4 Legal Obligation: where processing is required to comply with a legal obligation under the laws of Guyana.

5. How We Use Your Data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide information about our services.
  • To deliver consulting advisory services under an engagement agreement.
  • To administer diagnostic assessments and deliver assessment reports.
  • To send you our newsletter, insights, and publications (where you have consented).
  • To improve our website, services, and user experience.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
  • To protect FCG's legitimate business interests, including the enforcement of our intellectual property rights and contractual terms.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share personal data with:

6.1 Professional advisors: legal counsel, accountants, and auditors acting in their professional capacity and subject to confidentiality obligations.
6.2 Technology providers: website hosting (Vercel, Inc.) and email services (Google Workspace) — each operating under their own data processing agreements.
6.3 Regulatory authorities: where required by law or regulation, including the Data Protection Commissioner.
6.4 Affiliated entities: The Forrester Group (Guyana), Inc. and its subsidiaries — for administrative and operational purposes, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not transfer personal data outside of Guyana except to technology providers (Vercel — USA, Google — USA) that maintain appropriate safeguards as recognised under international data protection standards.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Contact form enquiries: 24 months from the date of enquiry, or longer where an engagement relationship is established.
  • Client engagement data: for the duration of the engagement plus seven (7) years, in accordance with professional record-keeping standards and the Guyana Limitation Act.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Diagnostic assessment data: for the duration of the licence agreement plus twelve (12) months.
  • Technical data: twelve (12) months from the date of collection.

8. Your Rights

Under the Data Protection Act No. 18 of 2023, you have the following rights:

8.1 Right of access: to obtain confirmation of whether your data is being processed and to access a copy of that data.
8.2 Right to rectification: to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
8.3 Right to erasure: to request deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.
8.4 Right to restrict processing: to request that we limit the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
8.5 Right to data portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
8.6 Right to object: to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
8.7 Right to withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud storage with access controls, and staff confidentiality obligations. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses privacy-preserving analytics that do not set persistent cookies or track individual users across sessions. If we introduce cookie-based analytics in the future, this Policy will be updated and a cookie consent mechanism will be implemented prior to activation.

11. Children's Data

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

13. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, including the Data Protection Act No. 18 of 2023. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Georgetown, Guyana.
